Attend a series of five (5) workshops (a combination of in-person and virtual), focused on school counseling leadership, advocacy, structure, and systems creation for your school counseling program. The New School Counselor Academy is for new school counselors, with 1-3 years in the field, and school counselors that changed levels and are new to elementary, middle, or high school. In the fall, we will focus on program foundation, intentional counseling practices, essential counseling forms, office routines, and calendaring your first 100 days in the building. In the spring, we will help you identify tools to assess your program, data sharing, establishing program outcomes, and areas of growth. Additional topics covered include Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS), counselor and administration collaboration, legal and ethical best practices, needs assessments, counselor burnout, and much more! Join us for: • Equipping new school counselors with resources and strategies to build comprehensive and intentional programs which align with LCAP needs, MTSS paradigms, and the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) national model framework. • Acquire skills in effectively delivering and managing services to maximize student achievement and socio-emotional development. • To grow and learn from regional school counselor leaders while developing an internal network of professional development. • Learn how to lead with data in a new setting and assess your program for growth year after year. • Develop a network of support.
