Fostering Early Mathematics Understanding through Counting Collections
Early mathematical reasoning and relational thinking are a better predictor of future academic success than early reading skills (Duncan, 2007). With this in mind we will explore a high yield strategy called Counting Collections in this one-day training. Counting Collections will help students to explore mathematical concepts, discover patterns and relationships through sorting, and improve subtilizing, one-to-one correspondence, hierarchical inclusion, and other essential number concepts. Join us for this one-day training and go back to your class ready for students to begin this highly engaging activity.
