Riverside County Office of Education, in Partnership with California Baptist University School: Counselor Supervision Certification
About the Event
Changes in California statute require that school counselors supervising interns must have advanced training in counselor supervision. Join us for an enriching collaboration between the Riverside County Office of Education in partnership with California Baptist University as we present an exclusive workshop for professionals seeking to advance their expertise in counselor supervision. Throughout this training certification, participants will delve into a multifaceted exploration of counseling supervision, blending theoretical frameworks with practical applications, from understanding the nuances of ethical supervision to mastering supervisory techniques that foster school counselor supervisor and intern growth and development. This workshop offers the participant a dynamic learning experience for both novice and seasoned supervisors alike. This certificate meets the new California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) Pupil Personnel Services Program Standards and Performance Expectations conditions passed in 2019. One of the new conditions requires universities to confirm that each school counselor who supervises fieldwork students demonstrates they have completed advanced training in supervision. This comprehensive one-day training is designed to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and strategies necessary to guide and mentor counseling graduate students effectively. In addition, those who complete the training will obtain a certificate of completion certifying they have met the new requirements to be a school counselor graduate student supervisor in California. The workshop will be led by esteemed faculty members from California Baptist University's school counseling program and seasoned professionals from the Riverside County Office of Education. Your certificate will be valid for five (5) years. Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.
