California College Affordability Summit
We Are Live In
Presented by
Keynote Speaker
We are pleased to announce award-winning journalist, documentarian, speaker, author, and philanthropist Soledad O’Brien, as the Keynote speaker for the California College Affordability Summit on November 8, 2023. O’Brien has a long and distinguished career dedicated to telling empowering and authentic stories on a range of social issues, including college student hunger in America. In 2019, O’Brien partnered with Yahoo Life to exclusively present the documentary “Hungry to Learn” chronicling the lives of four students facing the hard choice of paying for college or paying for food and housing. Through this work, she reported that 45 percent of college students are struggling with hunger. At the Summit, O’Brien will discuss the magnitude of the student hunger problem in America as told from real students making hard choices about their future success in college.
