    About the Event

    Classroom-based positive behavior support strategies create safe, calm, and effective learning environments. Such strategies are designed to improve students' and educators' quality of life. This training will focus on strategies to help Secondary school classrooms prevent behavior problems and de-escalate problems when they do occur while increasing academic engagement, building resiliency, and strengthening relationships between students and educators. Reflect on current classroom support practices for all Assess strengths and needs of current classroom supports Better understanding of behavioral principles and how they relate to teaching and learning in secondary classrooms Observe and experience Tier 1 behavioral practices Share classroom reflections and network with other secondary school educators Understand the foundational role of Tier 1 in supporting diverse learners Learn the de-escalation cycle and how to apply it Select a few simple but powerful practices to incorporate daily Who Should Participate: Any district and school personnel who support Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) at the district or school level.
