PBIS/MTSS Tier 1 – Planning Next Year’s Kick-Off Events

About the Event

A kick-off is a series of events or assemblies providing ALL students, staff, and families with the “big picture” of PBIS/MTSS at a school site. These events build interest, school spirit, motivation, and promote buy-in. The goal is for everyone to walk away thinking, “Something exciting is happening at our school!” The specific features of a kick-off include: Teaching expectations in all settings, to all students and staff Demonstrating your acknowledgement system Defining your correction system Introducing the visual reminders displayed around your school Join this virtual learning session to gain a practical understanding of how to successfully kick off your school’s PBIS/MTSS framework, whether this is your first year of implementation or an opportunity to reteach behavior expectations that have already been established. Those who have joined in the past are encouraged to return as you continue to refine and improve your efforts. Who Should Participate: Any district and school personnel who support Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and/or Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).
