Workshop & Book Study - Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics
About the Event
A thinking student is an engaged student. Institutional norms and habits that permeate all classrooms can actually be enabling "non-thinking" student behavior. Join us for this workshop/book study session in which we will dive deeply into the 14 optimal practices for creating thinking behaviors in students and thus deep mathematical learning. We will use the text Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics by Peter Liljedahl as our guide. These practices can be a game changer in your classrooms from grades 3-12. This workshop will make explicit connection to how these ideas improve outcomes for English language learners and how these ideas connect to Universal Design for Learning (UDL). All participants will get a copy of the book Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics by Peter Liljedah. Dates and Times Session 1 - IN PERSON Tuesday, September 12, 2023 8:30 A.M - 3:00 P.M.
