Running an Effective SARB: The Responsibilities of Panel Members
About The Event
The School Attendance Review Board (SARB) is a community based effort that includes members from school districts, community partners, agencies, and other stakeholders. The intent of SARB is to help truant, chronically absent, or recalcitrant students and their parents/guardians solve school attendance and behavior problems through the use of available school and community resources in a collaborative and meaningful way. This workshop will assist SARB Panel Members in understanding their authority under the Education Code and provide multiple examples of effective SARB Panel processes, empowering districts to strengthen and refine their own systems. Who Should Attend: SARB Panel Members, Attendance Team Members, Site Administrator, School Attendance Clerk, District Student Services Administrator, District Attendance Specialists, School Social Workers, Parent Liaisons, and other school and district staff that support attendance improvement
